I'm so happy that I got to spend time in my hometown of Cincinnati OH! I missed the fall weather and changing leaves. I got eat Gold Star Chilli, Frishes (once again) and let's not forget Alabama's Fish House.
What about fashion and style? Cincinnati is a city where women want style to be as cozy as comfort food. So I made a list of some fashion item's every Cincinnati woman MUST HAVE!
1. V Neck Sweater. The most comfortable kind of sweater there is! Like this sweater below from Tommy Hilfiger.
2. Peasant Shirts. Why? Because not only is a peasant shirt with small print, very comfortable way to please "those women", it's so versatile. Very nice with jeans or denim shorts and can also be "Church Appropriate," as seen in the picture below...
3. Hoodie. Why? Because you don't want wear anything that says "Lands End" on the tag. (Lands end dresses are ok to wear, but not the fleece jackets) A hoodie is not only sporty, but sexier than your fashion enemies will admit. This hoodie is from Old Navy...
4. Sweatshirts. Why? Because the only sweater comfortable is a v-neck...anything else has to be a sweatshirt. I love the sweatshirts by Lisa Frank.
5. Black T shirts. Why? This may be the most flattering shirt ever invented. Have a wardrobe full of them like the "Wonder Woman" shirt below.
6. Bomber Coats. Why? Because a bomber coat will efficiently get you through a cold Cincinnati winter. The bomber coats like the ones from www.cockpitusa.com will last for years.
7. Mini bag. I love mini bags because not only can you wear them across the shoulder, they are so stylish...the key is to get one that's not too small to carry your wallet and a couple of other things...the one below is from www.off---white.com, which may be fashions answer to Cincinnati's Black Owned brand.
8. Ballet Flats. Hey, at least I didn't say heels. Yes, you will wear them more than you think you will.
9. Black ankle boots. Not the old one's from the late 90's; an edgier not so Neo-Nazi pair will do. An ADDED PLUS: Boots like this can be worn with almost any length skirt or dress (rather than heels). www.dhgate.com.
10. Slides. When Cincinnati women dress down, it's always sporty. A must have is a pair of Puma Fenty slides. (oh yeah and get that $30 pedicure, it's worth it)
11. Tank Tops. During the warmer months, before you throw on an oversized (faded, wrinkled) t-shirt, try a look that's a little more feminine like an oversized tank top with a sports bra.
12. Athletic Shorts. Yes, you are still allowed to wear athletic shorts. Just keep things matching and size appropriate.
13. Wash n Go Hair. It is what it is...however, if you are going to wash your hair and walk out of the house, put a dollop of mousse in your hair so that it can dry with some finesse like Rich Hair Volumising Mousse. www.richhaircare.com.
14. Loreal. For a drugstore brand, they have some very luminous products. Glowing, shimmery lit from within skin is future of makeup. Deep down, I know Cincinnati women love shimmer makeup because it's so much fun and attention getting when done tastefully! Also, check out their skincare line as well.
More than anything, I hope this blog proves to be something FUN for Cincinnati women. I know the struggle of having to work harder than necessary for anything and not being celebrated as a woman. Know that you do have a style THAT WORKS! When you are having fun, that's when you feel sexy.
